Here is a post from Andrew Sullivan’ s blog that I think nails the attraction the right has with Sarah Palin… or at least a great deal of it. Actually I think this nails most of the modern GOP.

Part of Sarah Palin’s irresistible appeal to her fundamentalist base is her ability to look at the camera with utter conviction and declare black to be white.

The ability to lie well is a valuable part of the fundamentalist psychology. My son isn’t gay, he just hasn’t found the right woman! Those rocks aren’t 50 million years old, they just look like it as a test of our faith! My sexless marriage isn’t foundering, it is filled with God’s spirit! The minister isn’t molesting little Maria, they’re just very close! It isn’t torture, it is being tough on terrorists!

Fundamentalists can recognize a truly audacious and talented liar from miles away. Instead of running the other way, as you might expect, they gather around the powerful liar, for they know that their own lies will be respected and protected by a leader who understands the paramount importance of preserving their whole system of denial.

TPM has a great post chronicling the meltdown Fox News is having over Al Fraken being in the Senate. I posted this video, because you see the utter dismay of Glenn Beck at Franken being in the Senate, yet hoping for the country to be attacked is OK.

I can tell a joke about Pelosi’s face not moving with the best of them. Even at their worst, the hardest lefty is not nearly as bad and the nut-jobs on the far right. Completely off the reservation.

California Legislators missed the deadline for the budget… again. Completely incompetent. Hell, even our school board passed their budget and made tough choices; and there are people on that board I would not trust to order me a pizza.

Looking at the possible candidates for Governor, it think we are in trouble. Mgg Whitman… please. Gavin Newsom,… will never get my vote, Jerry Brown,…HA,HA,HA,HA, HA.

Rep. Bachman has gone so far off the of the reservation even Glen Beck shakes his head in disgust.

Don’t you imagine that the moderate isn the GOP contemplate a grassy knoll scenario for Bachman? It is people like this that further marginalize the party. I can’t stand certain Democrats like Barney Frank… or Pelosi, or Harry Reid, but at least they or not completely off the reservation. How stupid are the people in the Minnesota district in which she represents? Seriously?

I finally watched it last night. The guy needs to be placed under suicide watch. It is rare that you literally witness a promising (by GOP standards) political career implode in an eight minute news conference. The GOP will someday learn that when you put yourself on the highest of moral pedestals, the only way to go is to fall to your political demise. Regardless of his resignation or not, the dude is toast.

Aside from him looking like the evil trees from the Wizard of Oz, (which always creeped me out a bit),  but his “idea” on healthcare reform show what a spineless little pussy he really is. I will expound on the McLovin Health Care Proposal later tonight. My plan will actually work, but Barry has yet to return my phone calls or text messages.

I took the kids this morning to the 10:15 showing. Absolutely the worst film I have seen in awhile. It was not even good “mindless-summer-block-buster-with-some-nice t&A-thrown-in fare”. There are not enough slow motion running shots of Meghan Fox to redeem this Michael Bay piece of crap.
